East Midlands Development Agency

Contracted by EMDA, I was commissioned to run a short course on public relations for local small to medium businesses in Lincolnshire. The format was a three hour half day course consisting of lecture time and tasks throughout.

I designed the content and structure for the course and used my media experience to offer advice and practical insights into marketing businesses with small budgets via modern and traditional PR methods.

After being impressed with my course materials, my contact with EMDA asked me to provide further assistance to the businesses involved. This took on the form of individual support after the event.

The event was a huge success and almost all of the businesses involved opted for the extra one-to-one support package. I tailored the support specifically to the needs of the individuals and helped the businesses in various ways.

One avenue of support I offered was helping to develop a blog series for which I designed a course of learning based around branding for small businesses. By offering some insight into the industry and creating a do it yourself guide, the business grew traffic to its website and emerged as an influencer in their field.
